Without CAFM no transparency for Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen

About half a year ago Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen started working with the CAFM system by Ultimo. This is the first time that the facility department and the IT department, the technical service and security in the museum use a CAFM. Why Ultimo?

After discovering the urgent need for a Computer Aided Facility Management system, the selection process began in 2016 with an inventory of all the needs and wants of the organisation. Specifications were written based on this input and a number of suppliers was approached. This led to a shortlist of two suppliers. They were invited to show how their systems work and to give a demo. The choice for Ultimo was based on a number of things, one of them pricing. Also emotion: with whom will we have the best collaboration.

What is the real advantage for Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen?

Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen is about to start a massive renovation of its buildings. They are also building a new depot, a building of approx. 15,000 m2 open to the public where they can see the collection that is not on display in the museum, and look in on the provenance research, conservation and restoration department. This means more facility processes, more events, more employees. And it requires better insight, oversight and control. The museum will surely cope with all these changes with the help of Ultimo.
