Peak, a symbol of quality for sixty years

FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria sells condensed and powdered milk under the brand name Peak; for more than sixty years a symbol of quality. Peak has a large brand awareness and consumer loyalty is high. The products by Peak are healthy and nourishing, with all the important vitamins and minerals. The amount of powdered milk FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria processes in the capital Lagos is considerable. There is an extensive distribution network and WAMCO also uses markets to sell their products. Affordability of dairy is a major issue in Nigeria. Only a small group of Nigerians can afford to buy dairy products on a regular basis. This is why Peak packages a lot of their products in small units, so they remain affordable for lower-income groups. FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria is a collaboration between Royal FrieslandCampina and local partners.

Reorientation of the maintenance processes

For many year the users of Ultimo used the old version to their full satisfaction to support a variety of processes. For instance general maintenance for the machinery, but also registration and coordination of calibrations and the management of the fleet. Over time some configuration work took place, which positively influenced the usability of the software. However, the understanding that the standard functionality in Ultimo has evolved and with a critical eye on their process support WAMCO expressed the need to have a new Ultimo version. The design has to remain close to the standard but functionality for certain specific internal processes has to be kept. With this in mind project leader Uche Epke set out.

Future proof with Ultimo

In the summer of 2017 Uche Epke came to the Netherlands for a week of training courses and talks about the scope of the upgrade project. Some extra time was taken during this process to thoroughly test and tweak the scope. We have worked hard the past few months; and our Ultimo colleagues, Wilfred Kluin, Oscar van Wagtendonk and Micha Denissen, together with a highly motivated team of WAMCO have completed the implementation. FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria is ready to face the future, enjoying the many possibilities that Ultimo offers them for years to come.
