If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then Carlos Falchi should be very flattered.

His designs have influenced the market for over 40 years. In addition to his own line, he continues to design accessories to compliment the runway collections from designers such as, Donna Karan, Vera Wang, Bill Blass and Ralph Ricci. His loyal private clients include a who’s who list of celebrities and socialites from around the globe.

Mr. Falchi’s handbag collection began with a new approach of using a range of exotic skins and embellishments. Not afraid to use color and collage as a technique, his unique creations influenced an entire generation of designs. His initial fame resulted when he reinvented his technique and created an unlined, unconstructed buffalo satchel made from a single skin with only two seams.

The revolution began: with his unconstructed bags setting new industry standards he focused on the skins. Mr. Falchi has worked for years to develop and increase farm bred exotic skins protecting the species, providing environmental controls and increasing employment in the underdeveloped locals. Due to the success of these programs and his early “green” vision, there has been a marked increase in the quality and availability of exotic skins. He remains committed to developing new techniques while at the same time protecting the world’s fragile ecosystems.
